If not us, then who?
After nearly 40 years of employment in an urban school district, my retirement was filled with unfinished business.
My departure was bitter~ sweet. I, actually, wanted to continue teaching until I couldn’t teach any more. Ironically, little did I know it, but, in actuality, my teaching ended the day I was charged with Harassment by a coworker. It was a disgruntled teacher who didn’t like the way I put him in check, after watching his half~hazard way of instruction.
The Union did very little to intervene and all his comrades sided with him. It was a few years later when I realized, it was a wrap. The powers to be were in control and the children were failing miserably. I would graciously take my full retirement and pension all the way out. I figured 30 years of teaching was enough experience to start my new venture. Writing.
Please join me, as I introduce my 3 literary works.
For Parents, “Parents Take Charge.”
For young people 10-14, “Bite Your Tongue Alex: Think Twice.”
For New Teachers, “UnderCover Teacher.”
Each book was specifically written, given the state of Urban Education.
Feel free to join my Book Circle and discuss action plans to remedy the crisis in our schools & community.
